02/28/10 - Lake Hamlin

The fishing on Hamlin has been hit or miss. A few reports of the gills showing up again off of Wilson Hill. The Crappie grounds have been fairly consistent all winter. Look for them suspended 5-10 feet off bottom. Nice catches of Eyes off of North Bayou in the morning and early evening. The upper lake has been doing pretty well for Northern on frozen smelt. 

  Pere Marquette Lake

The Perch fishing has been pretty decent. Most outings are not producing limits, but the size of the ones being caught is between 8-14 inches. Wigglers or minnow heads on Halis or plain trebles has been producing well. A few steelie on the back of the lake using slammers with spawn. Twin bridges is open and steelie and Northern are hitting pretty consistently.Arctic spinners in orange and fire tiger are producing.
